“Travis Rice knows what he wants and has a unique grasp on the world he lives in. For this year’s graphics Travis wanted multiple images that portrayed opposite spectrums of human cultures and behaviors, such as the beauty and costume of the women from native tribes of the Americas vs the plastic and physically altered female beast of the Southern Cali- fornian coast. I created large scale digital collages set- ting the stage for Mike’s (Parillo) master hand. The digital collages were output at full size on canvas and then stretched onto bars.Mike then added multiple layers acrylics and oils to enhance the collage and to give the piece a new life, while incorpo- rating extra imagery and colors in to the original collage.”~Carl Smith
